It is likely sure that the West Indian monk seal has extinct. This seal hs a greyish brown colour. Its belly is yellowy. The females' belly is a bit darker than the males' belly.
The West Indian monk seal has been hunted. An extensive search operation in 1984 did not yield any result. It is likely that this seal has extinct since the 1950's.
